DisgrifiadA 340 metres long curve, now around the north of Pontardawe town centre, but originally to take the northward course of the Swansea Canal as it crossed the Pontardawe Aqueduct to a more easterly course out of the Upper Clydach River Valley and back into a north-eastern course up the main Swansea Valley. The curve is situated between the Herbert Street and Holly/Arthur Street Bridges on the canal some 8.25 & 8.5 miles from Swansea. The canal is in water at this point and the towing-path walkable. The Swansea Canal at this point was built in 1796-98 by the engineer Thomas Sheasby Senior.
