kThe Cambrian Brickworks were first worked by Mr Cowan. In 1873 the pits were subject to an enquiry regarding subsidence of the ruabon-llangollen railway situated to the east of the site. By the time of the 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map of 1888, they were labelled 'old brickworks' . The old sheds said to have been used as `velvet works? after 1900.
