DisgrifiadCovering an area of 38 acres, the King George Field in Swansea consists of several playing fields, cricket pitches, and tennis courts as well as two artificial football pitches. The site was laid out by Swansea Borough Council at a cost of £28,790 of which £4,500 was met as a grant from the King George's Fields Foundation. The site was used during the Second World War as the location of one of Swansea's anti-aircraft gun batteries and remained requisitioned to the army for several years following the end of the war.
