RCAHMW aerial reconnaissance on 11th March 2010 recorded earthworks of two small Roman camps, one well-preserved, and one fragmentary, lying some 335m south of The Gaer, Dolau, defended enclosure (NPRN 305839). The main camp is 27m square, with a broad rampart and rounded corners with central gateways. The second lies just to the south-east but only the northern part of the camp survives. The occurence of these two Roman camps so close to The Gaer may demonstrate that this larger earthwork is Roman.
