Not to be confused with Abertridwr, Glamorganshire in South Wales. Abertridwr, Montgomyshire is a small village approximately three kilometres to the north - west of Welshpool and one kilometre from Lake Vyrnwy (Llyn Efyrnwy). The village is not shown on the Ordnance Survey map of Montgomeryshire for 1887. There is a record for the joint school and community centre in the village, Ysgol Efyrnwy (NPRN 408510) that dates from 1950.
