DisgrifiadSituated in the north-west corner of Mount Stuart Square, the Imperial Hotel was used as the club house for the short-lived Bute United Rowing Club in the late-1880s although the Club itself was formed at the Bute Docks Hotel in April 1888. The transfer to the Imperial Hotel was effected for ease of access to the Glamorganshire Canal where the club members rowed and held regattas. The build ceased to be a hotel at the turn of the century following the redevelopment of Mount Stuart Square.
