A large area of stone quarrying activity made up of two major components. These are at the SE a linear pit about 9m wide and 40m long of progressively deeper extent to a maximum depth of 6 - 7m at the SW. At right angles to this at its N end, and separated by a gap is a carefully revetted road or trackway jutting out from higher ground. This road is about 40m long, 2.5m wide and 2.5m high (max). A gap passes right through this at one point (bridge gone) and the sides have been corbelling in to reduce the bridgeable span. Also associated with this site is a small hut-like structure with a single entrance, a revetted spoil heap and hat is possible the reamins of a shelter (ie a blast shelter) in the form of an "L" shaped wall.
