Bronbil Colliery lies on the southern slopes of Mynydd Bronbil, above the Arnallt Brook. The colliery was well established by 1877, shown on the 1st edition Glamorgan Ordnance Survey county series mapping (sheet XXX III 3) with several levels and shafts and a tramway running north-west to Tai-Bach. By 1899 the colliery was noted as disused, with earthworks of the tramway remaining.
Photographed during aerial reconnaissance by RCAHMW on 16th October 2008.
