The former National School is situated opposite the Holy Trinity Church and was built in 1848 and extended in 1856. It appears on the first edition 25" OS map, CD XLV.2, dated 1889. Was originally a cruciform shape with single storey schoolrooms on either side of a two storey gabled teacher's house. The west wing was extended to two storeys in 1856.
