This lych gate is sited within the boundary of the churchyard belonging to St Margaret's church (NPRN 107301). It was erected in 1930 as a memorial to Walter Lloyd, East Pool farm.

The gate is a Grade II listed building, with an oak frame resting on grey limestone side walls, and a slate roof. The walls are built into churchyard boundary bank, and have raised piers on their inner faces for the timber gates. A side plaque reads 'Erected by Mrs Morson to her parents 1930'. The east side incorporates a rounded boulder stone. The oak frame has open timber framing each side and vertical studs with a mid-rail. The tie-beams have cambered top sides, with the outer ones carrying the timber framing of the end gables with vertical studs and a cross motif to the centre. The original gates were replaced to a different design in August 2000.
