Llanddewibrefi 2 dates from the ninth century. The stone was first noted in 1693 above the chancel door and a record was made of its inscription. It now consists of two fragments which have been cut and trimmed and built into the external west wall of the nave.

The stone is carved with a Latin inscription, thought to read 'Hic iacet filvs Iacobi/qvi occisvs fvit propter predam/ sancti David' has been translated as 'Here lies Idnert son of Iacobus who was slain on account of the plundering of David'.
