1. Royal Commission aerial reconnaissance on the 29th July 2013 discovered cropmarks showing the southern extents of two large circular enclosures, both univallate, closely paired in a 'Figure of 8' arrangement. The larger western enclosure has an approximate diameter of 120m; the smaller enclosure downslope to the east is far smaller, c.40m diameter, with part of an east-facing entrance visible. Only the southern extents of both enclosures are visible in an arable crop; to the north the pasture is unresponsive. The close association of these two enclosures to at least two round barrows (Woodlands round barrow stands 60m west of the larger enclosure) and the site of a standing stone to the south, may indicate Iron Age reverance of, or focus upon, a pre-existing ritual site as with the defended enclosures which surround Crugiau Cemmaes round barrows in north Pembrokeshire (NPRN 304090).

2. Further clarity was seen on 25th July 2014 when the field to the north was also showing cropmarks. The smaller eastern enclosure has resolved itself into a circular enclosure, a likely barrow. The larger western enclosure appears to be a univallate defended enclosure. However, further sinuous linear ditches can be seen in the 2014 cropmarks which suggest greater complexity than these two discrete enclosures alone.
