DisgrifiadTwo houses, known as Hafodybryn and Suilven, are the site of the first successful Marconi long wave radio receiving station. The transmitting station (nprn 405838) was at Waunfawr in north Wales and the stations were in use between 1912 and 1938, for many years being the most important long wave radio facility in Britain, handling imperial and international communications. Several single-storey houses, known as the Marconi Bungalows (nprn 420927), were built nearby to accommodate the station operators and their families.
