A longhut is located within a walled enclosure on the west-facing slopes of Bwlch-y-garn, overlooking Ebbw Vale. The building lies on a rectangular platform, its long axis parallel with the contours. The platform terrace measures 10.8m long north by south and 5.3m wide. It is cut back into rising ground to a depth of 0.9m and built out to 0.8m high. The terrace is mostly occupied by the outline of a building once defined by walling but now reduced to stony banks. It measures 9.8m long by 2.4m long internally. Its former character is clearest of the east long side where the wall was about 0.6m thick but elsewhere spread to a grassy bank 1m wide and 0.15m high. On the west and south the bank is lower and broader but the north end of the building is scooped into rising ground. Above the east side of the platform is a low bank following an arc from the north end of the building and curving towards its south end. It probably served to deflect water from higher ground above.
The building is associated with two other longhuts and, more loosely, with a large platform and field system (NPRN 421645).
