DisgrifiadJeffreystone 1 is a cross-carved slab, found in 1925, prior to the restoration of St Jeffrey & St Oswald's Church (NPRN 300146), where it had been used as a threshold stone. It is currently set against the east wall of the porch.
The stone is a rectangular slab. Measurements of the stone are given as 118cm height x 25.2cm width x 6.5cm diameter. One face is carved with an outline equal-arm cross with a long stem. The cross arms have been later linked with a more roughly-punched linear ring, which passes through the cross arm. It is thought that both phases of carving date to the 8th?9th centuries.
