Braichmelyn is a settlement to the south of Bethesda, formed from two principal roads - Braichmelyn and Rhes James. Rhes James consists mostly of single-storey workers cottages, whereas Braichmelyn consists principally of single storey workers cottages on the south side, and more recent two storey dwellings on the north.
