Llandysul Grammar School was built by public subscription and opened in 1895. A notable former pupil was T. Llew Jones (1915-2009), one of Wales' best loved and most prolific children's authors. The school later became Ysgol Gyfun Dyffryn Teifi, which served local pupils from the age of 11 to 18. Under Welsh Government's 21st Century Schools Programme, Ysgol Dyffryn Teifi was one of five schools to close in 2016, with pupils moving to the new purpose-built school 'Ysgol Bro Teifi' (NPRN 422817). Former Dyffryn Teifi school buildings put up for auction in 2016.
