DisgrifiadY Felinheli (previously known as Port Dinorwic in English), is a large village situated on the banks of the Menai Straits, about four and a half miles south west of Bangor. The village has amenities including a primary school, a boat yard, a sailing club, two public house (Y Garddfon Inn and Y Fic), a post office and off license, and a fish and chips shop. There is one chapel still operating in Y Felinheli - Bethania Presbyterian Chapel. At one stage there were many more chapels serving the local congregations including Salem Baptist Chapel (NPRN 6969); Moriah Independent Chapel (NPRN 6968) Brynmenai Welsh Independent Chapel (NPRN 6970) and Elim or Bethania Methodist Chapel (NPRN 6971).
