Llangorwen is a small village on the northern bank of the Clarach river, built around the crossroads of the B4572 and a minor road. It is located approximately two miles north east and is perhaps somewhat overshadowed these days by its larger neighbour - Clarach Bay Holiday Village. The two most notable buildings in the village are the former national school and the church. The National School (NPRN 418254) was built in 1871, to replace an earlier free school. It was still in use as a school according to the 4th edition of the 6inch OS maps, published between 1938-1953. It is now used as the church hall. All Saint's Church (NPRN 400456) is situated about half a kilometre to the south west of the school and was built in 1838-41 'to serve parishioners living a considerable distance from the parish church, St Padarn's (NPRN 271), at Llanbadarn Fawr.'
