St Catherine's Church is situated some three quarters of a mile from the medieval church of St Brothen's, Llanfrothen (NPRN 43860).
The new settlememnt of Garreg has replaced the settlement of Llanfrothen, which now only consists of a few scattered houses and the redundant church. st catherine's Church is depicted on first edition (1891) Ordnance Survey mapping.
