This Anson was assigned to 321 Squadron. On 8 August 1940, it was being flown by Sgt J P J Bielfeldt from Carew Cheriton. The Anson had taken off at 00:30 for a training flight. The pilot became lost and force-landed at the east end of Pendine Sands. The plane hit one of the anti-invasion beach defences and crashed into the sea. The pilot reached shore safely and the Anson was later recovered and assigned to 2398MU.
