C19 coal level marked on the 1st ed county OS map as a 'trial level'. A cutting is 20m long N-S, 4m wide and up to 2m deep at the uphill end where the entrance has been obscured by subsidence. Small atreas of spoil at the downhill end suggests that this was an insubstantial working.
