Late C19 trial, or short-lived, coal level within a quarry (nprn 507573) first shown on the 2nd ed county OS map. It is a cutting 12m long E-W by 3m and up to 1.5m high. Probably partly infilled with scree from the quarry. At the downhill end is a levell platform created by spoil, cut through by a quarry track (nprn 507570).
