Coal level first shown on 3rd ed county OS map. In a very steep hillside it survives as a cutting 15m NNE-SSW by 6m and up to 1.5m deep. Probably a trial from which little coal was extracted, as there is no spoil tip and no evidence of how coal could have been conveyed fro mthe site.
