The Nant Hir level is shown as a small mine on the 1st edition 1:2500 Ordnance Survey map of 1877. By the time of the 2nd edition map of 1899, standing it had developed considerably and had a range of mine buildings and a tramway to a new working over 1km to the south. By the time of the 3rd edition map of 1919, the complex had been abandoned. The level mouth is now largely infilled but the top of the void can still be seen, with revetting leading into it. J.J.
