Marked as a level on the 1887 OS map, although almost certainly disused by then and part of the Bryn Fedwen lead mines established briefly in the 1850s. The entrance is in the side of a steep stream valley but is now concealed by subsidence. Bedrock is cut back into the steep S-facing slope to a width of 4m.
