This fish trap consists of two conjoining 'V's, their apexes situated at the low water mark and pointing seaward, each consisting of two arms. They are constructed of the remains of dry stone walling, a single boulder high, and belong to the Aberarth Fish Trap complex (NPRN 129859). The west 'V' is depicted on historic (1875-88) mapping. Its west arm points south-west (shoreward) and measures some 100m, terminating at the low water mark. A cod-end or sluice was probably located at this point. Its east arm measures some 160m and points south-east (shoreward). The west arm of the east 'V' is also depicted on historic mapping. The east 'V', along with NPRNs 518841 and 518842, is designated a Scheduled Ancient Monument. The east 'V' could also be interpreted as rectilinear, due to the fact that it has a third arm extending at right angles from its west end. This third arm measures approximately 65m and is orientated south-south-east (pointing shoreward), crossing the east arm of the west 'V'. The east 'V''s east arm is visible on modern (2005) aerial photographic coverage, and points south-east (shoreward). It extends some 15m further seaward than the west arm, before turning ninety degrees and extending for a further 10m or so. This creates a parallel apex slightly further seaward, which may represent different phases of use. Two further linear sections (extending at right angles to the 'V's), probably representing the remains of walls, can be discerned on modern (2005 and 2009) aerial photographic coverage. The first section is situated approximately 60m south of the apex of the west 'V' and measures some 20m. The second section measures some 25m and is situated approximately 10m south of the centre of the east 'V''s west arm. The fish trap is similar in size and shape to NPRN 518841, which is located approximately 100m further east. A charter of 1184 records that the goredi (fish traps) of Llanddewi Aberarth were offered to the monastery of Strata Florida. They remained in use until the 1930s.
