A cottage called Hengae is shown on the 1st edition 1:10560 Ordnance Survey map. The ruined building still stands up to 1 metre high. It is 11.5 metres long east northeast to west southwest by 6 metres and divided into two cells. The eastern cell is smaller. J.J. Hall, Trysor, 2 September 2011
