DisgrifiadDescribed as an 'occasional anchorage and landing place' in Admiralty Sailing Directions of 1870, with it being 'necessary to keep the western shores abroad, so as to avoid some outlying and straggling rocks upon the opposite sides, and they must be quited the istant the wind includes inward'.
