Marked as a quarry on the 1886 OS map but probably a coal mine originally, consisting of a shallow cutting into a steep E-facing hillside, 15m SW-NE x 6m and up to 1.5m deep, with thick vegetation. There is a small spoil tip on the opposite (E) side of former tramway (NPRN535558), 6 x 4m and up to 2m high on the downhill side.
