Disgrifiad
A cutting into a rock-face, 2m deep, 1.3m wide and 3m high, forming the entrance to a coal level. It faces downhill (W) and is surrounded by trees. The entrance itself is obscured by fallen stone, but an investigation with a pole showed that there is an aperture behind the collapse at least 1.5m deep. The approach is flanked by stone walls, 4m long and 0.6m wide, part-buried under turf. This site is first marked as a coal level on the 1901 OS map.
Recorded as part of RCAHMW Uplands Initiative Project, W B Horton, H & H, 06/09/2013.
