A complex of lead mines and trials (nprn 537494) is at the foot of a rocky slope on the W side of Llynnau Gamallt. They date from the C19 and early C20. The mine is a rock-cut cleft at the foot of an outcrop,1.5m wide, with sheer bedrock to the sides, the entrance partly infilled wih rubble. Inside, the level continues for at least 10m NE-SW and is waterlogged. The rubble in the entrance is probably spoil, but an access path 1.4m wide cuts through it.
