Gamallt lead mine is recorded in 1834 and the principal level is marked on the 1891 OS map as a 'trial shaft', suggesting that work had long since ceased by then. Two levels can be seen at the site (nprn 536719, 536725), as well as trials or opencuts (nprn 536723, 636726, 536727, 536728, 536729) and spoil heap (nprn 536724). Further to the S are remains of buildings (nprn 536714, 536716, 536717), and a cart track (nprn 536711). Quarries in the area appear to be either opencuts for lead ore, or were quarried for building stone (nprn 536722, 536720, 536718). There is an isolated wheelpit to the S (nprn 536715). At the N end is a leat (nprn 536721) that appears to have fed a waterwheel, the pit of which was truncated by a later level (nprn 536719).
