1. Main station building, part of Welshpool Railway Station (nprn 80506). Built 1859-60 in French Renaissance style, designed possibly by Benjamin Piercy. Red brick building, almost symmetrical. End tower projections with flat-topped pyramidal roof with cresting; recessed wide and centre wing with six gables with full-width canopy on brackets; platform canopy also.

2. Built in 1860 as headquarters for the Oswestry & Newtown Railway, the building is no longer in use for railway purposes; it has been restored and converted to a shopping centre following construction of the Welshpool by-pass road on the railway trackbed.
