Cofnod Safle

This drystone long hut, lies on the top of a slope on the south side of the Afon Mynach. It was recorded by Trysor during fieldwork for the Y Rhobellau - Dduallt Uplands Survey in 2015. Overall it measures 10.5 metres northeast to southwest by 5 metres. At its southwest end is a low outcrop with no wall line visible. Beyond the northeast end is a gully 1.25 metres wide with a further platform area 1.75 metres beyond. The main part of the long hut is divided into two cells, the metre wide dividing wall having edge-set slabs defining it. There is an entrance 1.1 metre wide into the southwestern cell at the northeast end of its southeast lateral wall. The walls are generally 0.90 metres wide, composed of stone blocks 0.30 metres to 1 metre in length. Vegetation cover was reeds and moss. J.J. Hall, Trysor, 25 March 2015
