The remains of this aircraft are designated as a Controlled Site under the Protection of Military Remains Act 1986. The Act makes it an offence to interfere with the wreckage of any crashed, sunken or stranded military aircraft without a licence. Event and Historical Information:
This Miles Master suffered a bird strike whilst flying over Wrexham on 27 October 1940. The elevator controls were damaged and it undershot the Borras Relief Landing Ground (later RAF Wrexham), hitting trees in Common Wood, Holt, and turning over. The pilot was slightly injured, but the aircraft was written off.
