Close to the river is an irregular group of walled enclosures, formed of rough stonework incorporating large boulders and natural outcrops. It is not shown on the tithe map, yet its appearance suggests it is very early, potentially far older than the other farmsteads in the locality. The main feature is a downhill-sited structure with rounded external corners, possibly a house, measuring approx 4.5m by 2.8 internally, and with a mass of masonry at the uphill end (perhaps a collapsed chimney). Two further units are attached to the downhill end of the presumed house (probably additions), the middle one having been filled in with stones to form a level platform. On the north side of this is a group of at least 5 irregularly shaped pens. A short distance to the south-east is an almost circular sheepfold, about 12m across.
