The Nautical Archaeological Society, whilst conducting a project on behalf of RCAHMW’s U-boat Project, have identified this building as a former granary. Pembrokeshire National Coast also point to the ruin of a granary as something to look out for at Abercastle. Dyfed Archaeological Trust record that it is a ‘three storey stone building. The western, northern and eastern walls stand to just over two storeys. The east wall stands to the first storey. [There are] five windows on the first floor, west wall, and five on the second storey. The ground floor has two doors and one window. Function uncertain but the large size of this building would seem to indicate that it formerly had an industrial use. Although modern and historic Ordnance Survey maps record the building’s outline, they do not note its function.
