The cause began in a local house in 1885, moved to a corrugated iron `tin tabernacle? bought from Penmaenmawr (costing £60) in 1891 and the congregation moved to the present chapel, costing £2,500, in 1906.

The chapel is unusual locally being built of red-brick. The main entrance is reached up a small flight of steps, but on the other side of the front of the building is another door which offers disabled access to congregants. The brick and terracotta tower and spire link the front and side elevations and offer a most pleasant feature and view as an approach is made up Abergele Road. The substantial staging behind the baptistery was the site of the organ now removed and replaced by a smaller instrument.

The foundation stones were placed on October 3rd, 1901, by the Rev. T Jones-Humphreys; Mrs Wolstenholme, Colwyn; Miss M Roberts, Bodfeirig; Mrs M Evans, Bay View; Mrs Enoch Jones, Gorden Lodge, Colwyn Bay. The chapel opened over two days on the 29th and 30th November, 1901, with the opening services preached by the Rev.s T Jones-Humphreys, Philip Price and F E Jones.
