It seems that The Croft is an example of what was an owner-occupied house set within a single plot, built of solid stone walls and a slate roof in the early to mid-twentieth century a very simple Arts and Crafts style. The Croft first appears on OS 25-inch Third Edition (1911-1939) and lies a short distance away from the Grade II Listed 19th century-built Rectory, designed by Prichard and Seddon for the Reverend Lewis. It is worth noting that the Rectory across the field is built of coursed rockfaced stone and it may have been the architect’s original intention to conform somewhat with the Rectory in its use and display of materials. In 2023 proposals were accepted for the renovation of The Croft which included demolition of the lobby and alterations to fenestration.
