DisgrifiadBuilt on the site of a grange to Abbey Cwmhir, Monaughty dates from about 1570. One of the earliest stone buildings in Radnorshire it is also one of the most imposing of its type; the original plan form, internal partitions, mullion windows and several other sixteenth century features survive. The building has a U-shaped plan with a central hall block and two flanking wings projecting to the east; it is two storeys high with walls of rubble stone with partial freestone dressings. In the main hall, there are fragments of decorative wall plaster painted with the Royal Coat of Arms of Elizabeth I.
