Cofnod Safle

Pen-castell is a multi-period upland farmhouse of medieval origin. One and a half storeys high and constructed of rubble stone under a slate roof, it has an end-chimney, lobby-entry plan. It was largely rebuilt in the nineteenth century, although it retains a seventeenth century fireplace constructed against a cruck-truss. A nineteenth century four-bay barn or byre range is sited parallel with the house.
