1. Garden/landscape features associated with Emral Hall (Nprn35805).

The Hall is set towards the centre of Emral Park (Nprn309712), hard by the left bank of Emral Brook, which biscects the park: the park & Hall, demolished 1936, was accessed via three drives, with lodges where these met the public roads, that to the west (Nprn301913) surviving: OS County series (Flint. XXII.7 1873) depicts garden areas to the north-east & north-west of the Hall, with a kitchen garden to the north & an area of shrubbery about the west & south: the kitchen garden appears to have been laid out over a mill fed by a leat from the S (Nprn309713), which also supplied fishponds, later an ornamental pool (Nprn309714) and moat (Nprn309720): a bridge before the house led into the 18th century stable court (Nprn309717) on the far side of the brook: the court, along with a series of enclosures/platforms to the north-east, were fronted by a canal (Nprn309716); on the south-east the stable court opened onto a broad avenue, its outline preserved by current field boundaries.
