The much ruined remains of the Din Dryfol Chambered Tomb Neolithic are set on a narrow ledge on the north-western flank of the isolated steep sided hill that is Din Dryfol. It is a megalithic chambered tomb originally with four chambers that extends about 14.6m from north-east to south-west, and was largely destroyed by a modern quarry road (NPRN 23478). Excavations in 1969-70 and 1980 revealed traces of a cairn, 47-62m by 14m. The monument originally had a single chamber and was subsequently extended to the east. The finds included fragments of cremated bone and sherds of Neolithic pottery. Iron slag, charcoal and Roman pottery were also recovered.
