An erect monolith, c.3.5m high by 1.5m by 1.2m, rising to a blunt point, with packing stones visible about its base.
One of two stones for which the pass is named (see also Nprn400500); not thought to be related to the Roman road thought to run through the pass (see Nprn400486).
One of the two stones has been recently ressurected.
