Sophia Gardens formerly had two lodges: one stood at the main entrance to the gardens on Cowbridge Road and is believed to have been built in 1857. It was damaged by bombing during the Second World War and later replaced by a modern building. The more northerly lodge (nprn 19979), at the end of Sophia Close, was built in the 1880s.
