DisgrifiadGwernyfed Park is a Jacobean house built 1877-80 by Thomas Word. The architect was W.E. Nesfield. The building was converted to a school in the 1950s but still retains much of its original character.
The north-west entrance front faces onto a railed forecourt closed by the stable yard on the north-east. This has a central arch with a clock set in the gable above and bellcote rising above. The house's main elevation faces south-east across the gardens. It is a two to three storey symmetrical confection of three bows.
