Disgrifiad
1. Garden features associated with Bretton Hall (in Cheshire).
OS County series (Flint. XV.5 1869) shows an orchard to the north-east of the house, corresponding with an extant enclosure, which shows traces of beds/ridges, & is bounded on the north-west by a ditch/channel leading into the moat (Nprn275850): a line of trees runs parallel to & beyond the south-eastern bank of the moat, the interior of which, being currently reached by stepping stones, has become, if it did not originate as, a landscape/garden feature.
Beyond an area of presumed farm buildings/outbuildings (including Nprn309571) several walled(?) enclosures are shown.
Around the Hall complex a range of cultivation features are apparent.
