Deeside Power Station is built on the northern part of the Shotton Steelworks (NPRN 300212) site and was commissioned in 1994. It produces 500Mw of electricity by burning North Sea natural gas. It is not to be confused with Connah's Quay (Powergen) gas turbine power station (NPRN 300210) or Connah's Quay/Deeside (CEGB) power station (NPRN 96149), both nearby on the south side of the River Dee.
