NAR SO03NW4

Identified as a castle motte, this is one of two castle sites in the grounds of Castell Madoc House (NPRN 86032). The other, a ringwork (NPRN 92160) lies 120m to the north-east.
A steep sided oval mound, 28m north-east to south-west by 20m and 5.6m high. There is no trace of a ditch. The house is thought to lie within the area of the bailey.
It is likely that the mound was adapted as a garden feature.
